Bar in the Car

How many times do we see people like these? Just yesterday I saw one at the exit of the freeway and i usually get this, 'should we give them something or now' kinda thought.

Here's a nice idea from one of the brothers on Al-Maghrib

You see them everyday.
Sitting on the sidewalk, sign in their hands, asking for some change.
It's become so commonplace, we hardly notice them anymore.
They ask, but we don't give.
We feed ourselves excuses while many of them go hungry...

.............."Oh they'll just use my money for beer!"

"They're just fakers getting rich off of donations!"

"They should go find some work instead of bumming around!"

Here's a project that addresses those issues while still helping the homeless and hungry. It is so simple and easy, you can start today and reap in the rewards, in sha Allah! It's called...

Bar in the Car

What you'll need:
* A box of granola bars (or anything that doesn't spoil in the heat).
* A car (it doesn't have to be yours).

Here's how it works:

Step 1) Put the box of granola bars in the car.
Step 2) Next time you see a homeless person, roll down the window a bit, and hand him/her a granola bar (roll down the window only a little, and only during daylight!)
Step 3) Make dua that Allah accepts from you.
That's it!

Benefits:

* You get the reward of feeding the needy, in sha Allah!
* They can't use a granola bar to buy beer or drugs! (and those who want money for beer/drugs usually will turn down the granola bar! lol)
* Even if they're fakers, you've simply fed someone. What's wrong with that? We feed wealthy people all the time at dinners and iftars!

So who's interested in getting this reward:

{And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness and will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments].} [76:8-12]

If you're interested, go put granola bars (or whatever) into the car and then comment here saying:

"I got Bar in the Car! May Allah accept from me!"
